Recording your own transactions

DiDi Task is a platform that connects Customers and Taskers. Since no payment transactions take place through the DiDi app, DiDi Task does not collect, record or maintain any transaction history. As such, DiDi Task will not be able to provide you any periodic earnings or income statements or tax summaries.

Tax and DiDi Task

Your earnings from DiDi Task are subject to both GST as well as income tax. It is your own responsibility to comply with the relevant taxation laws. DiDi Task does not charge, collect or pay any taxes on your behalf.

Thus, we highly recommend that you keep a cash / receipt book to maintain your own records of all transactions and income arising out of your DiDi Task activities, as well as to issue a receipt to the customer in case they request for one.

How does DiDi Task work with taxes?

DiDi does not provide any tax advice. We highly recommend you visit the Australian Taxation Office website (https://www.ato.gov.au/) and or consult an accountant for detailed information on taxes.

Do I need a new ABN / GST Registration?

No, you do not need a new or separate ABN and GST Registration for DiDi Task. You can continue to use the same ABN and GST Registration that you are currently using for your DiDi driver-partner account. 

Is the Service Fee inclusive of GST?

The Service Fee offered by the customer is inclusive of GST.

Does DiDi pay tax for me?

As a Tasker, you independently provide Task services. You are neither an employee nor a contractor of DiDi. As such, you are responsible for reporting all income and paying all relevant taxes associated with your activities.

Will DiDi Task provide me with an invoice or periodic tax summary?

Since DiDi Task is purely a platform allowing Customers and Taskers to agree Tasks and all transactions between you and the customer take place outside of the app, DiDi Task does not maintain any transaction records and cannot provide a summary of tasks and related income.

What records do I have to maintain for tax purposes?
