About DiDi Hero

DiDi Australia have committed $2 million to create the DiDi Hero Program (DHP). Commencing on Friday 1 May 2020, the DiDi Hero service will provide dedicated transport and safe rides to eligible healthcare workers working in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Newcastle and Geelong.

Be a Hero Driver

A driver who is accepted as a participant in the DHP will be called a “Hero Driver”. Acceptance is at DiDi’s sole discretion and DiDi may alter the number of Hero Drivers as it considers necessary or appropriate. By applying to join or participating in the DHP, Hero Drivers confirm their acceptance of these terms and conditions.

By participating in the DHP, Hero Drivers will be able to provide the transportation services to riders who work in the health sector who use the Rider App through the DHP (“Hero Passengers”). As Hero Drivers are providing an essential service to Hero Passengers, we ask Hero Drivers not to cancel a Hero trip unless absolutely necessary e.g. an emergency.

The eligibility criteria are:

(i)          you must have driven regularly on the Driver App during [March – April 2020]; and

(ii)        you must apply for the DHP and accept these Terms and Conditions.

You can apply to join the DHP here.

DiDi Hero fleet recruitment is underway, with DiDi driver-partners invited to join the DiDi Hero fleet to accept these trips from 1 May 2020.

Complimentary Hero Care Kit

Hero Drivers driving Hero Passengers will be charged a 5% service fee excluding any confirmation fee, levies, toll fees and other third party charges. DiDi continues to recommend that you Drive Safe, Drive Kind including practicing good personal hygiene and keeping your vehicle clean. Subject to availability and limits, DiDi will make available to Hero Drivers face masks and hand sanitiser.

Not all heroes wear capes (but 100% of them wear masks)

All DiDi Hero drivers must wear a personal face mask while driving.

Hero drivers reported without a mask during trips may risk losing Hero privileges.

As we open DiDi Hero to more Healthcare Heroes such as aged care facility workers, be a Hero and wear a face mask when completing trips to help protect the safety of you, your rider and the wider Australian community, particularly the elderly and our most vulnerable.

I don’t have masks

All Hero Drivers have been provided with a complimentary Hero care kit which includes personal face masks. This kit has been posted to you, if you haven’t received yours, please contact help.driver@au.didiglobal.com.
