DiDi Advance to resume 15 June

Dear driver-partners,

I hope you and your loved ones are safe and well.

I want to take this opportunity to give my sincere thanks to you and all DiDi Driver-partners who have selflessly provided Australia with essential travel during COVID-19, particularly for our frontline healthcare workers.

We have been right here with you throughout this crisis and rest assured that we will continue to work relentlessly to help you and the wider DiDi Driver-partner community through the health and economic impact caused by COVID-19.

Despite the significant negative impact to our business during this time, DiDi has retained its staff and focused its efforts on launching new initiatives to support you, our Driver-partners, and our rider community. They included:

  • Services Fee Reduction: At the beginning of COVID-19 we reduced our Services Fee to 5% across Australia to support your earnings
  • $10M Driver Fund Created: We created a USD $10 million Global Relief Fund to financially support Driver-partners affected by COVID-19
  • New ‘DiDi Hero’ Product Launched: We committed AUD $2 million to create ‘DiDi Hero’, a dedicated service providing frontline healthcare workers with safer, sanitised and discounted rides, providing Hero Driver-partners with an additional avenue to earn
  • Free Masks Given to Drivers: Distribution of over 400,000 personal face masks to Driver-partners to date 

Now as isolation restrictions ease and we see an increase in trip numbers, our business must also begin the road to recovery. We will re-introduce our ‘DiDi Advance’ program nationwide, commencing 15 June 2020. As a business we need to be financially sustainable so that we can invest in generating more trips, build the best platform and ultimately improve your earnings potential for the long term.

With this in mind DiDi Advance will have the following revised levels while retaining an industry-leading average Services Fee: Diamond (5% Services Fee), Platinum (10% Services Fee), Gold (15% Services Fee), Silver (20% Services Fee).

As always, we remain committed to providing rideshare drivers in Australia with the opportunity to earn whilst charging a fair Services Fee. We will support you in attaining higher DiDi Advance levels by ensuring Quest targets are attainable, updating them in line with any marketplace changes.

Because nobody knows what the future will hold, we will continue to closely monitor the evolving COVID-19 situation and will adapt quickly to prioritise your safety and welfare as we have done so far. 

We have been amazed by the overwhelmingly positive response to DiDi Hero and I am humbled by your amazing efforts in supporting the Australian community. As we confront the new normal together, the team at DiDi is continuing to work on additional ways to support you and keep you safe. I hope that in return, you stick with DiDi so together we can help Australians travel safely.
